French painter Marcel Dyf (1899-1985) noted for his portraits and bouquets of flowers, his inspiration for many compositions often came from his wife Claudine Godat, who posed for him and allowed him to immortalize the spirit of womanhood.
His pastoral scenes capture French countryside with unique color, light and vibrancy.

In Dyf's paintings there is no touching, no re-working.
Instead his brushwork is fluid and "first-time" perfect.

Dipinse affreschi nei municipi di Saint-Martin-de-Crau e Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer.
Dipinse anche affreschi nel Museon Arlaten e nella sala da pranzo del Collège Ampère, entrambi ad Arles.
Progettò anche le finestre all'interno dell'Église Saint-Louis a Marsiglia.
Nel 1935 si trasferisce nel vecchio studio di Maximilien Luce in Avenue du Maine a Parigi.

Nel 1940, a causa dell'invasione tedesca della Francia durante la seconda guerra mondiale, tornò ad Arles.
Si unì rapidamente alla Resistenza francese nella Corrèze e nella Dordogna.
Successivamente tornò a Parigi ed infine si trasferì a Saint-Paul-de-Vence.

Tuttavia, negli anni '50, iniziò a svernare a Parigi e a trascorrere l'estate a Cannes, dove attirò l'attenzione dei collezionisti d'arte americani.
Il suo lavoro è stato esposto e venduto alla Galleria Petrides, al Salon d'Automne, al Salon des Tuileries ed al Salon des Artistes Français di Parigi, nonché nelle gallerie di Cannes, Nizza, Marsiglia e Strasburgo.
Oltreoceano, è stato esposto alla Frost and Reed Gallery di Londra.
