Michael Fitzpatrick ~ Figurative painter




California artist Michael Fitzpatrick started his art career in the mid sixties by attending Art Center College of Design in L.A. After graduating he went to work for D’Arcy, McManus, Masius Advertising in New York as an art director. Next he moved back to the coast where he started and ran his own ad agency: Fitzpatrick and Walker adv. Drawing and design were always a large part of Michael’s daily activity.

Yuko Nagayama 永山裕子, 1963 ~ Symbolic Watercolor painter



Japanese artist Nagayama Yuka 永山裕子 was born in Tokyo. In 1985 graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music with a premium, and in 1987 the School of Arts Department Satoru in Tokyo.
Since 2009 - teacher of painting in the Art University Musashino. Together with another watercolorist Kazuo Kasai opened his own school of watercolor, constantly conducts master classes. Uses French paper Arches, gold paint, salt, concealer, etc. Also writes acrylic.

Louis Escobedo ~ Colorist realist painter



Texas-born Louis Escobedo has been painting since he was six. He won a small art award in school, and has been pursuing his life’s calling ever since. With a BFA from Sam Houston University, now many years later, the role of painting in his life has not diminished. "The most important thing in my life is to paint and for people to enjoy my paintings".

Thomas Ehretsmann, 1974 ~ Conceptual/Figurative illustrator



French painter and illustrator Thomas Ehretsmann was born in Mulhouse, France. He completed his studies at the School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg in 1998 and has led a successful career in illustration for over a decade. Notably, his work has been featured in the New Yorker, Rolling Stone, Elle Magazine and various European and American books and journals. In 2009, he spent several months in Norway studying with the internationally recognized painter, Odd Nerdrum. He received a gold medal from the Society of Illustrators of New York in 2011, and a silver medal from the Society of Illustrators West in 2013.
His works have been exhibited at Gallery Brulee in Strasbourg and at Gallery l’Oeil du Prince in Paris.

Alberto Gálvez, 1963 ~ Figurative painter



Spanish painter Alberto Gálvez is known for his oil on linen paintings that capture an enchanted world. His influences run from antiquity and Renaissance imagery to poetry and French avant-garde films of the 1960s. Throughout, he reminds us that the ideals of the classical period, proportion, balance and harmony, are still operative, inspiring and engaging.
Galvez embraces this understanding to create images that exist outside of space and time. His exceptional use of translucent oils give an ethereal quality to his surface. His body of work is a moving attestation to the aesthetic power of the human gaze.

Louis Valtat ~ Fauve painter



Louis Valtat [1869-1952] was born in Dieppe on 8 August, 1869. He studied at le Lycée Hoche in Versailles where his parents lived. In 1886, when he was 17 years old, he applied for admission at the Ecole des Beaux Arts and completed his training at the Académie Julian where he made friends with Albert André and Pierre Bonnard. In 1890, he won the Jauvin d’Attainville prize; he then set up his workshop at rue de La Glacière in Paris. In 1893, he took part in the Salon des Artistes Indépendants for the first time. His paintings covered one main theme: the life in the neighbouring streets such as “Sur le boulevard” which Félix Fénéon duly noted.

Ralf Heynen, 1978 ~ Figurative painter



Ralf Heynen is a fine arts painter from Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Despite the first impression of a sophisticated and detailed picture his technique is based upon light and tonality and typical brushstrokes. These strong light effects and the subtle use of colour are typical for his work.

Nicholas Hely Hutchinson, 1955 ~ Neo-Romantic Landscapes


Nicholas Hely Hutchinson is a painter, based in Dorset. Initially influenced by Dufy and Matisse, he has also drawn on the British Neo-Romantic tradition. He settled near Blandford, Dorset, and the countryside of that county and Wiltshire, horse racing, interiors and still life were among his subjects. He studied at Harrow School, Saint Martin's School of Art and Bristol Polytechnic.

Muriel Barclay ~ Figurative painter



Scottish painter Muriel Barclay has an unusual arts background. Born and bred in Glasgow she graduated with a degree from Edinburgh University before heading to London where she initially worked in Jacques O’Hana’s Gallery in London’s Mayfair.
She returned to Glasgow to teach history and raise her family, while at the same time studying Drawing and Painting at Glasgow School of Art and History of Fine Art at the Open University.

Felix Ziem ~ The Barbizon school of painters


Félix Ziem (1821-1911) was a French painter in the style of the Barbizon School. He was born Félix-Francois Georges Philibert Ziem in Beaune in the Côte-d'Or département of the Burgundy région of France. His mother was a native of Burgundy who married an immigrant. Originally, Ziem planned to be an architect and studied at the School of Architecture in Dijon, and for a time worked as an architect. In 1839 he moved to Marseilles, where he received some informal instruction in painting from Adolphe Monticelli.
