Bénédicte Lacroix | Time travel

Bénédicte Lacroix is a French graphic artist and retoucher, who had the amazing idea of combining her love for art with her knowledge on Pop culture and create a super fun series of work.

Celebrities are morphed and integrated into famous paintings. In the beautiful paintings, Leonardo DiCaprio takes over Vincent van Gogh's self-portrait, Megan Fox is now the Girl With a Pearl Earring, and Miley Cyrus is Henri-Guillaume Schlesinger's new Spanish Beauty.

The artist photoshops popular actors, singer and celebrities into famous paintings with them taking the place of their protagonists. Lacroix has uploaded her hilarious creations on her blog along with other projects of her.

In her diptychs, her subjects are so skillfully blended into the paintings, that they could make even the more observant viewer believe that Leonard DiCaprio was actually Vincent Van Gogh or that Rowan Atkinson was Gustave Courbet.

She curates a Tumblr blog entitled "Voyages dans le temps" which fittingly translates to "Time travel".

L'artista Francese Bénédicte Lacroix ama i quadri dei grandi pittori, ha un debole per i personaggi Disney e segue con attenzione tutti i personaggi di Hollywood e le pop star sulla cresta dell'onda. Proprio per questo ha deciso di creare una pagina personale su Tumblr, chiamata "Voyage dans le temps", in cui mostrare quanto Leonardo Di Caprio assomigli a Vincent Van Gogh e come Sheldon di The Big Bang Theory sia un soggetto perfetto per un pittore del '700.

La sua arte è sostituire i protagonisti dei capolavori della pittura con le celebrità.

Prendendo come base i dipinti di Vincent van Gogh, Paul Cézanne, Alexandre Cabanel e Caravaggio, il graphic artist francese Bénédicte Lacroix inserisce nei quadri Leonardo DiCaprio, Miley Cirus, Michael Jackson o Angelina Jolie o altri personaggi di fantasia come Gollum della trilogia Il signore degli anelli e Ariel de La sirenetta.

I lavori sono raccolti nel suo blog su Tumblr intitolato "Voyages dans le temps" ossia "viaggi nel tempo".
