Charles Haigh-Wood (1856-1927) was a British genre painter, who lived in London, Bury and Taplow, Buckinghamshire.

Haigh-Wood’s enchanting visions of romance, with attractive girls and pretty dresses are some of the most endearing and popular of all images.

His patrons adored them, a successful businessman of Haigh-Wood’s day with any pretension to artistic taste had to own one.

Hector Caffieri | Victorian watercolour painter

Hector Caffieri (1847-1932) was a British watercolourist painter, born in Cheltenham Gloucestershire in England, son of French parents who had settled temporarily in England.

He studied at the Académie Julian with academic painter Léon Bonnat (1833-1922) and Jules-Joseph Lefebvre (1836-1911), both great exponents of genre painting and both traditional academicians.

Caffieri worked and lived in London in 1880.

Albert de Belleroche | Painter of Belle Époque

Count Albert Gustavus de Belleroche (1864-1944), also known as Albert Belleroche, was a Welsh painter and lithographer, who lived most of his childhood and his adulthood in Paris and England.

He began as a painter, but at the turn of the century focused on lithography, for which he is most well-known. He was awarded the Chevalier de l’Ordre de Leopold by King Albert I of Belgium in 1933.

James Jebusa Shannon | Portrait / Genre painter

Sir James Jebusa Shannon RA (1862-1923) was an Anglo-American artist.

Shannon was born in Auburn, New York, and at the age of eight was taken by his parents to Canada.

When he was sixteen, he went to England, where he studied at South Kensington, and after three years won the gold medal for figure painting.

Albert Ludovici Jr. | Genre painter

Following the profession of his father Albert Johann Ludovici (1820-1894), Albert Ludovici Jr. R.B.A. (1852-1932) spent his life between Paris and London, painting scenes of society at leisure.

His genre paintings were the most popular, particularly his studies of the interaction of couples, whether in public places or of private moments in their homes and lives - these paintings have universal appeal.

But he also painted landscapes and interior scenes in both watercolour and gouache as well as in oils.

Alison Friend is a British artist, born in Doncaster, South Yorks.

Her paintings are inspired by nature and her cheeky sense of humour.

Alison Friend graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 1996 with a degree in Fine Art specialising in Printmaking.

Mary Fedden | Modern painter

Mary Fedden, OBE RA PPRWA (1915-2012) was a British artist.

After the war was over, Fedden developed her own style of flower paintings and still lifes, reminiscent of artists such as Matisse and Braque.

In 1995, she acknowledged in an interview in The Artist magazine:

Andrew McNeile Jones graduated from Oxford University’s Ruskin School of Art, with a first in Fine Art, in the 1980’s.

He then trained as a filmmaker, working in all areas of the film and television business.

He produced and directed dramas, documentaries and commercials.

He shot in many countries around the world, and won numerous awards for his productions.

Winifred Nicholson | Colourist painter

Rosa Winifred Nicholson (née Roberts, 1893-1981) was a British painter.

She was married to the painter Ben Nicholson, and was thus the daughter-in-law of the painter William Nicholson and his wife, the painter Mabel Pryde.

She was the mother of the painter Kate Nicholson.

Winifred Nicholson was a colourist who developed a personal impressionistic style, concentrating on domestic still life objects and landscapes.

Chris Dunn | Watercolor children's book illustrator

Chris Dunn, was born and lived in the Riddlesden area of Keighley.

He has been a fine artist and illustrator since 2008 and his anthropormorphic animal illustrations have gained him a strong following and the attention of a major gallery in Paris.

He attended Bingley Grammar School, where he began to develop his talent for art in a newly built art block at the school.

After leaving school, Chris went to Bradford College, where he completed an art foundation course, followed by advanced study at Swindon School of Art, where he graduated with a degree in illustration.

John Patchett, 1946 | Pastel painter

Born in Deal, Kent, John Patchett is a well-known East Anglian professional artist, who is a member of the East Anglian Institute of Artists and whose pastel paintings are much sought after, both in England and abroad.

After attending Grimsby School of Art, Kingston-upon-Thames College of Art and Brighton College of Art, John settled in Australia where he lived for 19 years.

In 1994, he returned to this country, settling in East Anglia where he has easy access to some of his favourite locations.

Thomas Lawrence | The Red Boy, 1825

This portrait of Charles William Lambton - aged six or seven - was commissioned by the boy's father John George Lambton, 1st Earl of Durham, a Whig politician and MP for County Durham.

Popularly known as The Red Boy, it remained in the Lambton family until it was acquired by the National Gallery in 2021.

It is acknowledged as one of Thomas Lawrence's (1769-1830) masterpieces and, a sign of the image's enduring popularity, it was the first painting to be reproduced on a British postage stamp in 1967.

Sir Anish Mikhail Kapoor, CBE, RA is a British-Indian sculptor specializing in installation art and conceptual art.

Born in Mumbai, Kapoor attended the elite all-boys Indian boarding school The Doon School, before moving to the UK to begin his art training at Hornsey College of Art and, later, Chelsea School of Art and Design.

His notable public sculptures include Cloud Gate (2006, also known as "The Bean") in Chicago's Millennium Park; Sky Mirror, exhibited at the Rockefeller Center in New York City in 2006 and Kensington Gardens in London in 2010; Temenos, at Middlehaven, Middlesbrough; Leviathan, at the Grand Palais in Paris in 2011; and ArcelorMittal Orbit, commissioned as a permanent artwork for London's Olympic Park and completed in 2012.
