Robert Ricart, 1948 | Paris painting


French painter** Robert Ricart was born in Bruay en Artois. He studied at the Etudes Arts Graphiques and the Beau Arts School in Paris where he still resides.
Ricart became famous on the art market for his Paris vedutas.
He was trained at the prestigious Académie des Beaux-Arts, initially exhibited especially in the West France, from the early 1970s in Paris and other towns, received numerous awards** and his works are owned by European as well as American museums.

Musée du Louvre is the world's largest art museum and an historic monument in Paris, France.
The museum opened on 10 August 1793 with an exhibition of 537 paintings, the majority of the works being royal and confiscated church property. Because of structural problems with the building, the museum was closed in 1796-1801.

Antoine Blanchard | Paris painting


Antoine Blanchard is the pseudonym of the French painter, Marcel Masson [1910-1988]. Blanchard was often introduced to collectors as the foremost artist of Parisian street scenes of his day. Like his predecessors, the French masters Galien-Laloue, Cortes, Loir, Utrillo and Francois Gerome, Blanchard has made an impact on contemporary art.Born in 1910 in a small village near Blois in the Loire Valley, Blanchard was encouraged at a young age to enter the arts. His parents first sent him as a young boy to an art school in Blois, and then relocated the entire family to Rennes in Brittany so that young Antoine could study there at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. Three years later, in 1932, the young artist moved to Paris in order to Study at its world famous Ecole des Beaux-Arts. Upon completion of his studies, Blanchard was awarded the Prix de Rome, an honor rarely given to an artist of his young age.

Georges Stein (1870-1955) was specialized in painting the era of the Belle Époque in London, Paris and Nice and is considered a Paris Boulevard painter and watercolorist from the French school. She was born circa. 1870. However, there is confusion as to whether she was born in London or Paris. Since most of her paintings depict the wonderfully colorful streets of Paris, I would place her birth in France, as do the French.
A fine example of his work is in the Musée Carnavalet in Paris and depicts the Champs-Elysées in the early 1900s, with numerous horse drawn carriages, and Parisian Society parading in their finery.

Henri Alexis Schaeffer | Paris painting


Henri Alexis Schaeffer (1900-1975) was born in Paris, France in early August of 1900. A student at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts in Paris, Schaeffer studied painting under the hand of the master Cormon. Schaeffer’s earlier paintings consisted primarily of architectural studies of classical monuments and religious landmarks. Regardless of the subject matter, virtually al of the artist’s earlier work was of a religious theme. It was not until much later in his career that Henri Schaeffer represented Paris through its imperial and picturesque boulevards.

Nils Kreuger | Paris painting



Nils Edvard Kreuger (11 October 1858 - 11 May 1930) was a Swedish painter.
After studying at the Perséus school of painting, Nils Kreuger came to Paris in 1881. Under the influence of the French plein air style of painting he produced landscapes and cityscapes of Paris and its region, often at dawn or dusk, in the mist, rain or snow. In 1887 he returned home to Sweden and settled in Varberg, where he from 1893 painted together with Richard Bergh and Karl Nordström.

Luigi Loir | Paris of Belle Époque


Luigi Aloys-François-Joseph Loir, dit Luigi Loir was born December 22, 1845 in Goritz, Austria and he died February 9, 1916 in Paris.
Luigi’s parents were of French origins, but his family lived in Austria as employees of the French royal family, the Bourbons - his father was a valet while his mother was a governess.
In his catalogue raisonnée on Luigi Loir, Noé Willer explains how "since the French Revolution, Gorritz (which was known as ‘the Austrian Nice’) was a refuge for royalists and particularly the Bourbon branch of the family".
The earliest years of Luigi’s life, then, were spent in the Gorritz castle, but shortly after his birth, the Loir family relocated, along with the Bourbon family, to the Duchy of Parma, around 1847.

Constantin Kluge /Константин Константинович Клуге (1912-2003) was an French award winning painter originally from Russia. Raised mostly in Manchuria and Beijing, Kluge eventually settled in Paris and became a French citizen.
He is known for his French landscapes and romantic scenes of Paris.
Constantin Kluge was born on January 29, 1912 in Riga, then a large industrial port city in the Russian Empire. Kluge was born into a family of means and some status.
His paternal grandfather had spent years in France studying the cultivation of vines and wine making. Returning to Russia he developed a successful winery. Kluge's father, also Constantin, was a member of the Russian Army General Staff and a White Army sympathizer.

Jan Rijlaarsdam | Paris painting


Jan Rijlaarsdam (1911-2008) was born in Nieuwkoop, Holland in 1911. He started painting as a young man having attended the Amsterdam Academy of Art. For many years he lived in Hilversum and is regarded as belonging to the "Het Gooi" Artist's Association and the "Het Gooi" school of art. Student of A.G. Hulshof Pol, a wellknown painter and art teacher 1883-1957. Rijlaarsdam also spent a considerable amount of time in Belgium and France. The buildings and street life of Paris were of particular interest to him.

L'espressione pittorica di Loiseau si mantenne sempre nell'alveo della corrente post-impressionista e se egli mostrò qualche evidente influenza da parte di altri maestri, non si può che fare il nome di Claude Monet, specie osservando le sue rappresentazioni dei porti, delle falesie e delle chiese, eseguite in piccole serie.
Loiseau dipingeva all'aria aperta, immerso nei paesaggi che lo ispiravano, in Bretagna, in Normandia, od anche nei centri abitati, come Moret-sur-Loing o la stessa Parigi.

French painter🎨 Gustave Loiseau (3 October 1865-10 October 1935) was born in Paris into an affluent commercial family.
He was largely self-taught and during his youth he worked with a decorator, painting the outskirts of Paris in his free time.
An inheritance from his grandmother provided him with a certain degree of financial comfort and independence that allowed him to concentrate fully on paining and to move to Montmartre.
Here he met Maxime Maufra, with whom he remained friends for the rest of his life.
He enrolled at the École des Arts Décoratifs for a year, the only training in colour and drawing which he received.

Spanish painter Juan Alberto Soler Miret moved to Madrid very young and started in Art by himself.
As a result of his visits to the Museo del Prado he showed special interest in the work of Dutch and Flemish painters such as Vermeer, Holbein and Dürer, from which it attracts not only the subject, but his mastery of technique and design.
He was also interested in artists as diverse as Botticelli, Salvador Dalì or Ingres, which will undoubtedly mark his later work.
