Giannis Koutrikas, 1954 | Expressionist painter

Greek painter Γιάννης Κούτρικας is an artist of extraordinary technical potentials, giving emphasis in the monumental form and the themes of ethology and religion.
Koutrikas was born in Kalamata, in the Peloponnese.
The artist was awarded from his high-school in the USA a scholarship to attend Art classes at the Art Institute of Chicago.
He later returned to Greece where he was accepted at the University of Arts in Athens (1982-1987).
He was awarded the state sponsored scholarship (I.KY) for Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in France.



He studied with Professor and artist Dimitri Mitaras.
He also studied along side, renowned artist, Giannis Tsarouhis until 1989.
From 1982 Giannis Koutrikas’ work has been exhibited and can be encountered in numerous galleries and auctions in Greece and abroad, also in the museum of the City of Athens Vouros-Evtaxias.


His art works are in many Art Collectors’ private collections, throughout the world.
He is a member of the Chamber of Plastic Arts of Greece (EETE).


He has been working closely with the art center Fine Arts Kapopoulos since 1997 which promotes his work in Greece and abroad, where Giannis Koutrikas states that their collaboration continues to be stable and constructive.




















Nato a Kalamata, il pittore Greco Γιάννης Κούτρικας ha studiato in America presso l'Art Institute di Chicago.
Dal 1982 al 1987 ha studiato alla Athens School of Fine Arts con Dimitris Mytaras e ha ricevuto una borsa di studio dalla State Scholarship Foundation (I.K.Y) per l'École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Francia.


Dal 1982 ha esposto le sue opere in numerose mostre personali ed in numerose collettive.
Le sue opere sono presenti in gallerie d'arte in Grecia e all'estero, così come al Museo Vouros Eftaxis di Atene.


Le sue opere sono presenti in numerose collezioni private in tutto il mondo.
Negli ultimi diciotto anni ha collaborato quasi esclusivamente con la galleria di Belle Arti Kapopoulos.
Si tratta, come lui stesso afferma, di una collaborazione stabile e costruttiva che promuove la sua arte, sia in Grecia che all'estero.
