Leonid Afremov (1955-2019) | The "Impressionist" Lovers


Leonid Afremov🎨 was a Russian-Israeli modern impressionistic artist who worked with palette knives and oils.
Over the last 25 years, he developed his own personal style and technique which differentiates him from other artists. He painted mainly city scenes, vintage cars, seascapes, cats playing jazz and flowers.
Afremov was born in Vitebsk, the same town where Marc Chagall began his artistic career. He developed his passion for painting in the USSR until 1990.

That same year, due to constant discrimination related to his Jewish heritage and radiation from the Chernobyl disaster, he decided to move with his family to Israel.
He settled down in the Tel Aviv area and opened an art gallery in Ashdod.
In 2002, he moved to the United States and in 2004 he started selling his paintings on eBay. Internet exposure resulted in big success and he immediately received positive approval from customers.
After eight years in the United States, in March 2010 he moved to Playa del Carmen, Mexico where he lived for nine years.
On 19 August 2019 Leonid Afremov suffered a cardiac arrest at his home and died hours later in the general hospital. He was buried in a traditional Jewish ceremony in the municipal cemetery of Playa del Carmen.





















Leonid Afremov (12 luglio 1955 - 19 agosto 2019) era un artista impressionista moderno Russo-Israeliano che lavorava con spatole ed olio.
Negli ultimi 25 anni, ha sviluppato il suo stile personale e la sua tecnica che lo differenziava dagli altri artisti. Dipingeva principalmente scene di città, auto d'epoca, paesaggi marini, gatti che suonano jazz e fiori.
Afremov era nato a Vitebsk, la stessa città in cui Marc Chagall iniziò la sua carriera artistica. Ha sviluppato la sua passione per la pittura in URSS fino al 1990.
Nello stesso anno, a causa della costante discriminazione legata alla sua eredità ebraica e alle radiazioni del disastro di Chernobyl, decise di trasferirsi con la sua famiglia in Israele.
Si stabilì nella zona di Tel Aviv ed aprì una galleria d'arte ad Ashdod.
Nel 2002 si trasferisce negli Stati Uniti e nel 2004 inizia a vendere i suoi quadri su eBay.
L'esposizione a Internet ha avuto un grande successo e ha ricevuto immediatamente l'approvazione positiva dei clienti.
Dopo otto anni negli Stati Uniti, nel marzo 2010 si è trasferito a Playa del Carmen, in Messico, dove ha vissuto per nove anni.
Il 19 agosto 2019 Leonid Afremov ha subito un arresto cardiaco a casa sua ed è deceduto ore dopo in ospedale generale. Fu sepolto con una cerimonia tradizionale ebraica nel cimitero comunale di Playa del Carmen.
