Françoise de Felice, 1952 | Figurative Impressionist painter

Françoise de Felice, descendant of an Italian father and French mother, was born in Paris where she lived until she was 20 years of age. As a child Françoise de Felice was introduced to art by her grandmother. Later whilst at the Sorbonne she also attended the Beaux Arts. Her initial introduction was to that of the essetial Impressionism. Françoise de Felice then left France for Sicily where she found that the French Impressionism was not enough.

There she developed her own style, letting go of the well worn paths in order to create her own style. Inspired by the magnificence of The Sicilian baroque and the light of the island she reached out further to an almost liquid yet precise line. Her style derives both from instinct and depth of thought. The compositions of her paintings are an introspective story, one of self analysis. After a number of comings and goings between the mediterranean and France, Françoise de Felice settled on the Ile de France close to Paris. Her works have been exhibited well in France and also Europe in Padua, Rome, London, Paris and Geneva.

Françoise de Felice è nata a Parigi da padre italiano e madre francese e a Parigi ha trascorso i suoi primi 20 anni. Da bambina è stata introdotta alla grafica da sua nonna.

Parallelamente alla Sorbona, ha frequentato le Belle Arti come revisore dei conti. Il suo primo approccio all'arte è l'impressionismo, declinato in tutte le sue forme fino al 1982.

Poi ha lasciato la Francia e siè stabilita in Sicilia dove di Impressionismo francese ce ne era a sufficienza. Doveva costruire la propria personalità, lasciando il sentiero battuto, ricreando la sua firma.

I fasti del barocco siciliano e la luce dell'isola le hanno giovato, ha cominciato a trovare il suo stile che nasce dal caso. Ha fatto del suo dipingere una storia introspettiva, un' auto-analisi.

Dopo molti avanti e indietro tra il Mediterraneo e la Francia ha finalmente lasciato la Sicilia e si è stabilita vicino a Parigi mettendo su un laboratorio dove ha organizzato una serie di mostre internazionali in grandi città come Caracas, ma anche in Europa a Padova, Roma, Londra, Parigi e Ginevra.
