Nicoletta Ceccoli, 1973 | Children's book illustrators

Nicoletta Ceccoli born and still live in her native Republic of San Marino.

She graduated from the Institute of Art in Urbino (Italy) in the section of animation.

Since 1995 Nicoletta has been commissioned as illustrator to create work in the editorial world for several children’s books, magazines, book covers, CDs and posters, advertising.

Amongst her clients: United Airlines, Random House, Mondadori, Simon and Shuster, Feltrinelli, Barefoot books, Macy’s, Vogue.

In 2008 she created the design for the 3D french animation movie “La mecanique du couer” with the direction of Mathias Melzieau and the production of Luc and Silla Besson.

In 2021 she designed the animations for the documetary ‘Phoenix Rising’ produced by HBO and directed by Amy Berg.

Nicoletta is now mostly appreciated for her personal artworks with female protagonists, shown in galleries and museums throughout the world..

Ceccoli was awarded the Andersen Prize, "honoring her as the best children's book illustrator in Italy", in 2001.

Others prizes are Society of Illustrators of New York and four prizes for Excellence in the Communication Arts.

In 2008 she worked as the character designer for a 3D animated French film, La mécanique du cœur, under the direction of Mathias Melzieau.

Ceccoli has participated in 11 group exhibitions and has had nine solo exhibitions of her work.

Nicoletta Ceccoli è nata e vive ancora nella sua Repubblica natale, la Repubblica di San Marino.

Si è diplomata all'Istituto d'Arte di Urbino (Italia) nella sezione di animazione.

Dal 1995 Nicoletta lavora come illustratrice per il mondo editoriale, realizzando libri per bambini, riviste, copertine di libri, CD e poster, e pubblicità.

Nicoletta è oggi apprezzata soprattutto per le sue opere personali con protagoniste femminili, esposte in gallerie e musei di tutto il mondo.

Ceccoli ha ricevuto nel 2001 il Premio Andersen, che l'ha riconosciuta come "migliore Le figure per dirlo: di libri bambini in Italia".

Altri premi le sono stati assegnati dalla Society of Illustrators di New York e quattro premi per l'eccellenza nelle arti della comunicazione.

Nel 2008 ha lavorato come disegnatrice dei personaggi per un film francese d'animazione in 3D, Jack et la Mécanique du cœur, sotto la direzione di Mathias Melzieau.

Ceccoli ha partecipato a undici mostre collettive e ha tenuto nove mostre personali del suo lavoro, mentre nel 2022 ha partecipato alla Biennale di Venezia.
