Peter van der Ploeg, 1954

Dutch painter** Peter van der Ploeg was born in Rhenen, in the Netherlands. Graduated at the Art Academy in Arnhem in 1976.

Independent artist since 1976. The theme of his work is the silence of the landscape and the tension within it.

In the landscapes we find tension, loneliness, peace or threats. The almost photographic reproduction of the subject is his medium. This increases the drama of his theme and herewith is functional. Paintings of Peter van der Ploeg have been shown in the Fries Museum in Leeuwarden and at the KunstRAI in Amsterdam.
