Johann Jungblut | Romantic Landscape painter

Johan Jungblut (1860-1912), a Düsseldorf school, painted winter landscapes of rural Netherlands, Germany, and Norway in an old master style.

Jungblut was born in Sarrebourg on the French/German border in April of 1860, although in 1885 he made the German city of Dusseldorf his home.

Johan Jungblut was a solitary figure who lived alone; he made frequent trips to Holland to paint, specialising in Winter scenes infused with tranquil light.

Johann Jungblut is known for Landscape, figure, genre painting.

Today the museums of Brooklyn and Mayence (in France) display his work.

Johann Jungblut, anche Johann Jungbluth (1860, Saarburg - 1912, Düsseldorf), è stato un paesaggista Tedesco della scuola di Düsseldorf.

Jungblut lavorò inizialmente come artigiano per la ditta Villeroy and Boch a Mettlach.

Imparò a dipingere da autodidatta.

Nel 1885 si trasferì a Düsseldorf, dove sembra aver svolto il ruolo di un solitario e vissuto nel quartiere di Pempelfort nel 1889.

Suo figlio, il futuro scultore Emil Jungblut, nacque a Düsseldorf nel 1888.

Anche i pittori Hans (6 febbraio 1886) ed Walter Jungblut (1892–1941) erano suoi figli.

I dipinti di Jungblut furono fortemente influenzati dai primi modelli olandesi.

La sua specialità erano i paesaggi invernali nebbiosi dipinti in stile impressionista lungo le acque olandesi sotto il sole basso.

Dipinse spesso anche fiordi norvegesi ed altri motivi in questo stile.

Firmò alcuni dei suoi quadri con lo pseudonimo di J. M. Sander.

Si sospetta che abbia usato anche lo pseudonimo di J. Metzler.
