Steve Henderson, 1957 | Romantic painter

About his art, Steve says: "I look for, and paint, beauty, as a counteracting effect of our media-saturated fascination with ugliness.
Yes, the world is a brutal place, but it is also our home.
There is peace, serenity, quietude, thoughtfulness, majesty, grace, joy, and hope in this home of ours -- and that is what I paint".

A lifetime fine artist, Steve Henderson pursued a successful career in commercial illustration before turning to fine art fulltime.
Steve’s landscape, coastal, and figurative works, which he creates in oil, watercolor, or charcoal, have been in numerous national shows and exhibitions including: Oil Painters of America, Richard Schmid Fine Art Auction, American Society of Marine Artists, Mystic Seaport, Paint the Parks and Best of America.

He has been featured on the Barry Chappell Fine Art Showcase on TV, as well as named one of the Top 50 Fine Artists by Artist and Illustrator Magazine.
Proud of his Norwegian heritage, Steve was honored when his painting, Opalescent Sea, was chosen as the cover for a Georgian (Asia) translation of a Norwegian classic literary novel.
