Diane Eugster | Impressionist painter

Born in San Mateo, California to an artist Mother, Diane started manipulating paint at an early age.
Her first job at the family art supply store gave her the opportunity to pour through a multitude of books and experiment with a myriad of materials.
Diane’s oil paintings are recognized for their Contemporary Impressionistic style.
In her own words “it’s all about the focus, the purpose, the one strong statement”.


Her palette is limited to as few color choices as possible which makes her familiar vivid color harmonies really sing.
Spontaneous brush work with broken color passages flow in and out of her paintings, while the figure is the core source of her inspiration.
The challenge to capture the surrounding atmosphere as well as the subject is a puzzle that keeps drawing her back to the human form.

Her pursuit of capturing the essence of her subjects has rewarded her with accolades from many regional and national art shows.
As a figurative artist it is her goal to create a open ended visual story which will engage the viewer.
She orchestrates her reference material in much the same way movie producers plan their work.


This begins with selecting the location and lighting conditions to set the overall theme for the painting.
This is further refined by creating story boards, quick sketches and selecting props and costumes to set the scene.
Diane is a member of the American Impressionist Society, The Oil Painters of America and a Signature Member of The American Women Artists.















Nata a San Mateo, in California, da una madre artista, Diane ha iniziato a manipolare la pittura in tenera età.

Il lavoro spontaneo del pennello con passaggi di colore spezzati fluisce dentro e fuori dai suoi dipinti, mentre la figura è la fonte principale della sua ispirazione.
La sfida per catturare l'atmosfera circostante così come il soggetto è un puzzle che continua a riportarla alla forma umana.
La sua ricerca di catturare l'essenza dei suoi soggetti l'ha premiata con riconoscimenti da molte mostre d'arte regionali e nazionali.
Come artista figurativa, il suo obiettivo è creare una storia visiva aperta che coinvolga lo spettatore.


Orchestra il suo materiale di riferimento più o meno nello stesso modo in cui i produttori cinematografici pianificano il loro lavoro.
Questo inizia con la selezione della posizione e delle condizioni di illuminazione per impostare il tema generale del dipinto.
Questo viene ulteriormente perfezionato creando story board, schizzi rapidi e selezionando oggetti di scena e costumi per ambientare la scena.
Diane è membro dell'American Impressionist Society, The Oil Painters of America e Signature Member di The American Women Artists.
