Gilberto Geraldo, 1962 | Figurative painter

Born in Sao Paulo, Gilberto Geraldo started his dedication towards paintings and drawings by the age of 11 with a clear goal of becoming an artist.
By the age of 16, he was made a member of the Artists Association of Sao Paulo.
Nevertheless he was not intimidated by the premature and ascending success of his career, moving on into his studies and researches, searching for the excellence of his art.



His professors were Salvador Rodrigues Junior, Sante Bullo and Giovanni Oppido.
In his creations, being a simple study or a more complex composition, he is always making use of the nature as a source of information and inspiration.

Gilberto Geraldo has studied at both the V.A. Surikov Institute Moscow and the I.E. Repin State Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in St. Petersburg, Russia.
His mastery of drawing and painting has sent him around the world to instruct workshops and give demos.
Gilberto currently lives in Russia. Understanding that classical art must also be contemporary, Gilberto is able to combine his Academic skill with a deep understanding of the contemporary art market to guide students of classical Academies and Ateliers into the 21st century well informed about historical techniques, and modern subject matter.


Gilberto Geraldo received the highest awards in the major and most prestigious Art Competitions of Brazil, being also invited as a jury member in many others.
He had his works in individual and group exhibitions and many of his pieces are part of private collections in Brazil and abroad.
He has been the first Brazilian artist majoring at the Russian Academy of Fine Arts, Saint Petersburg.

Academy founded in 1757, graduating artists who have become masters of the Russian Art, such as Karl Bryullov, Alexander Ivanov, Ilya Repin, Ivan Kramskoi, Ivan Shishkin, Valentin Serov, Henryk Siemiradzki, Nikolai Fechin, among many others.
Many of Gilberto's works, during his years as a student, were kept in the Academy Museum collection.
He received awards in many internal Art Competitions and two of his works, part of the Academy collection, are published in the book Academic Drawings and Sketches, presented by Professor Vladimir Mogilevtsev.

























Nato a San Paolo, Gilberto Geraldo ha iniziato a dedicarsi alla pittura ed al disegno all'età di 11 anni con il chiaro obiettivo di diventare un artista.
All'età di 16 anni divenne membro dell'Associazione degli Artisti di San Paolo.
Tuttavia non si lasciò intimidire dal prematuro e ascendente successo della sua carriera, proseguendo negli studi e nelle ricerche, alla ricerca dell'eccellenza della sua arte.

I suoi professori furono Salvador Rodrigues Junior, Sante Bullo e Giovanni Oppido.
Nelle sue creazioni, siano esse un semplice studio o una composizione più complessa, si avvale sempre della natura come fonte di informazioni ed ispirazione.


Gilberto Geraldo ha studiato sia al V.A. Surikov Institute di Mosca e I.E. Istituto statale di pittura, scultura ed architettura Repin di San Pietroburgo, Russia.
La sua maestria nel disegno e nella pittura lo ha portato in giro per il mondo a tenere laboratori e dare dimostrazioni.
Gilberto attualmente vive in Russia.
Comprendendo che l'arte classica deve essere anche contemporanea, Gilberto è in grado di combinare le sue competenze accademiche con una profonda comprensione del mercato dell'arte contemporanea per guidare gli studenti delle accademie e degli atelier classici nel 21° secolo ben informati sulle tecniche storiche e sugli argomenti moderni.
