Valentin Gubarev /Валентин Губарев was born in the city of Gorky, now Nizhny Novgorod, Belarus.

Since 1975 he has been living in Minsk. He is a member of the Belarusian Artists` Union.

Since 1991 he has been a participant of Republican and International exhibitions of paintings.

In his 2lst year, he went to Düsseldorf and began his studies at the Academy of Art there, which was led by Friedrich Wilhelm Schadow, the son of sculptor Johann Gottfried Schadow.

He is associated with the Düsseldorf school of painting.
