Nello Iovine was born in Cava dei Tirreni (Salerno), Italy in 1935. He lived in Salerno and Verbania on the shores of Lake Maggiore.
After many years he returned to Battipaglia, Italy.
Iovine specialized in figurative and portrait paintings. A classic style painter he attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples where he was a pupil of Professor Guido Casciaro.
His artistic career started in 1954 at the age of 18 when he held his first solo exhibition in Salerno. In the 1960’s he was discovered by Arnot Gallery, who commissioned a long series of paintings.
