Stephen Pan 潘仲武 is an extremely versatile artist n the classic European oil painting tradition.
His singular artistic expression is easily recognized in his sublimely elegant and serene paintings.
Since 1987 he has focused primarily on original figurative oil paintings on canvas.
In spite of his close relationship with formal Chinese traditions in art, Pan fell in love with the paintings of renaissance and French impressionist periods.

Johannes Vermeer | Baroque Era painter

The life and art of Johannes Vermeer (1632-1675) are closely associated with the city of Delft.
He was born in Delft in 1632 and lived there until his death in 1675.
His father, Reynier Vermeer, was a silk weaver who produced caffa, a fine satin fabric, but in 1631 he also registered in the Saint Luke’s Guild in Delft as a master art dealer.
By 1641 he was sufficiently prosperous to purchase a large house, the “Mechelen”, which contained an inn on the market square in Delft and from which he probably also sold paintings.

Paul Gauguin | The figures

The vogue for Paul Gauguin's work started soon after his death.
Many of his later paintings were acquired by the Russian collector Sergei Shchukin.
A substantial part of his collection is displayed in the Pushkin Museum and the Hermitage.

John Haag is a professional artist whose work has been described as a fusion of impressionism and realism.
Specializing in oil and charcoal, Haag began painting at the age of 18 and selling his work at age 21.
He had his first solo show at age 24 in Park City, UT.
Working primarily as a portrait artist in his early career, Haag’s work can be found in private collections throughout the US and has been commissioned by many prominent Americans, including the late world renowned author/speaker Steven R. Covey.

Yarek Gofrey (real name Jaroslaw Pawel Nowicki, Olsztyn, Poland 1957 - Paris, 2014) was a Polish artist of French, British and Austrian origins.
In 1982 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow and the Studies for Stage Costume design for theater in Cracow.
In 1983 he moved to Paris, where he lived until his death in 2014.

Francesco Vinea | Genre painter

Francesco Vinea (Forlì, August 10, 1845 - Florence, October 22, 1902) was an Italian painter, known for his period costume Genre subjects.
He studied first at the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence, but had to discontinue his studies due to his poverty, and spent some time traveling without home.
He worked for a photographer, also as a designer of illustrated magazines, but returned to Florence and studied under professor Enrico Pollastrini, but only for a year.

Johann Jungblut | Romantic Landscape painter

Johan Jungblut (1860-1912), a Düsseldorf school, painted winter landscapes of rural Netherlands, Germany, and Norway in an old master style.
Jungblut was born in Sarrebourg on the French/German border in April of 1860, although in 1885 he made the German city of Dusseldorf his home.
Johan Jungblut was a solitary figure who lived alone; he made frequent trips to Holland to paint, specialising in Winter scenes infused with tranquil light.
