Miriana Mitrovich is Bulgarian - Serbian - Canadian, born in Sofia, Bulgaria. As a daughter of a ballerina and a sculptor, she was enrolled in a classical ballet and piano lessons by the age of six and sculpting portraiture under the guidance of her father. At the age of ten, she was accepted as one of twenty-eight children from across the country into a nine-year program at the National Ballet School in Sofia.
Shortly after graduating, Miriana immigrated to Canada where her life took a new direction. In 1992, Miriana took her first course in photography at George Brown College. In 2002, she become a member of the Toronto Camera Club and is now a photographer in the Masters Category with more than 200 awards. Miriana says: "Photography is the art that moves me the most. It is like sculpting a moment in time..." Miriana is always searching for the music and motion in a frozen moment in nature and portraiture. Her style is unique as it encapsulates tranquility, textures and meaning in pristine form and composition.
