Gerard Di-Maccio, 1938 | Visionary painter

Gérard Di-Maccio was born in Algeria to an Italian father and a Spanish mother. Di-Maccio is student at several of the most famous art academies in Paris: Académie de la Grande Chaumière, Académie Julian, Ecole des Beaux-arts.
In parallel, Di-Maccio starts teachers training, and in 1966 he presents a thesis entitled "Morpho psychology".
The artist participates in an important number of group exhibitions, in Paris and surroundings, also Brussels and Osaka.
In 1985, Gérard Di-Maccio a personel exhibition in Paris, Gallert RÂ, Art fair Stockholm Sweden, King Gustav of Sweden is touched by his art.





He creates the first artistic holography and the press (le point) writes "Dali's dream finally realized".


In 1996 the artist works on the creation of the monumental painting which will be finished in 1997. The scale model of what will be the biggest painting ever painted on canvas by one single artist 27mx9m.
He presents the monumental painting at in International Artfair Geneva (Suiisse) to the international public. In 1999 opening of the Espace Di-Maccio in Carthage, art gallery and cultural center in presence of the Minister of Culture.
From 2001-2009 several important exhibitions have been taking place in Europe: France, Netherlands, Belgium and also international exhibitions in USA and Tunisia.


In 2010 opening of Di-Maccio Museum (Nikkappu-Japan).

• His artwork has graced the covers of Japanese major media (Asahi Shinbum), as well as major publications in France, Europe and the USA.
• In 1992, a Japanese art collector initiated the project to create a museum exclusively dedicated to Di-Maccio's artwork, achieved in 2010.
• Di-Maccio created the first artistic holographic work thus combining a scientific and artistic approach of techniques.
• He created the largest oil painting in the world which is permanently exhibited in the Di-Maccio Museum in Japan.
• He has exhibited his art in the most prestigious art galleries in Paris and has been invited to be guest of honour at local group exhibitions throughout Europe.
• He created a highly professional fine arts school and an art gallery/cultural center in Carthage.
• He has been awarded the title of "Knight of the Arts" in recognition of his brilliant art career.
• He has won numerous medals awarded by different presidents across the world for his extraordinary artistic talents.
• He is permanently represented by several international agents and art galleries world-wide and in France, including in Paris, Saint-Paul de Vence, Cannes, Honfleur, Courchevelle, Mégève, Agen, Toulouse, Arcachon, Clermont-Ferrand and Lille.
• Six of his artwork books have been published.






























Gérard Di-Maccio è nato in Algeria quando era ancora una colonia francese, nel 1938. Ha studiato arte da giovane di 14 anni. Suo nonno è stato il suo primo ammiratore che ha motivato il ragazzo appendendo il suo primo dipinto nel suo vetrina.
I genitori di Di-Maccio, consapevoli della passione e del talento del loro figlio maggiore, decisero di lasciare la loro casa per trasferirsi a Parigi.
Diversi anni dopo, i grandi successi del figlio dimostrarono che trasferirsi a Parigi era la scelta giusta. La mossa ha permesso al giovane artista di sviluppare il suo talento.
