Alexis Le Borgne, 1995 | Watercolor painter

Alexis Le Borgne is an award-winning French-Vietnamese professional artist based in France.
He describes his art as evolving with time and being marked by continuous questioning and desire to learn in perpetuity.
From still lifes to interior scenes, as well as the animal world, imaginary landscapes and character settings, each of Le Borgne's subjects "brings its stone to the edifice", helping him to better understand and grasp the world around him.

Victor Tardieu | Co-founder of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts d'Indochine

Victor François Tardieu (30 April 1870, Orliénas - 12 June 1937, Hanoi) was a French painter; cofounder of what is now known as the Vietnam University of Fine Arts.
In 1887, he was admitted to the École nationale des beaux-arts de Lyon.
After two years there, he transferred to the Académie Julian in Paris, where he studied for a year.

Vietnamese art is visual art that, whether ancient or modern, originated in or is practiced in Vietnam or by Vietnamese artists.
Vietnamese art has a long and rich history, the earliest examples of which date back as far as the Stone Age around 8,000 BCE.
With the millennium of Chinese domination starting in the 2nd century BC, Vietnamese art undoubtedly absorbed many Chinese influences, which would continue even following independence from China in the 10th century AD.

Truong Buu Giam, 1948 | Abstract impressionism painter

Vietnamese-born American painter Truong Buu Giam was born on Christmas Eve, in the province of Bên Tre, South Vietnam.
His parents felt grateful on the birth of their fifth child.
They named the infant Buu Giam with a fateful meaning: Preserving the Precious and the Beautiful.
Already in elementary school, his teachers loved to have him come to the chalkboard and draw pictures so other children could copy.
