Richard S. Johnson, 1953 | Impressionist painter

Richard S. Johnson is an award-winning contemporary American painter based in Chicago, Illinois. Johnson was born in Chicago to a family of artists.

While still in primary school, Johnson was accepted as a scholar to the Art Institute of Chicago.

A graduate of the American Academy of Art, he embarked on a career as an illustrator.

Johnson's style has been regarded as having the technical excellence of Pre-Raphaelite Romanticism mixed with contemporary Expressionism and Abstraction.

Frederic Edwin Church | Hudson River School

Frederic Edwin Church (1826-1900) was perhaps the best-known representative of the Hudson River School of landscape painting as well as one its most traveled.

Born in Hartford in 1826, he was the privileged son of Joseph Church, a jeweler and banker of that city, who interceded with Connecticut scion and collector Daniel Wadsworth to persuade the landscape painter Thomas Cole to accept his son as a pupil.

From 1844-1846, Church studied with Cole in his Catskill, New York, studio and accompanied him on sketching sojourns in the Catskill Mountains and the Berkshires of Massachusetts.

At one point, the master characterized the student as having "the finest eye for drawing in the world".

He is a lecturer in art at Kharkov State Academy of Design and Arts since 2006.

Member of the Ukrainian Union of Artists since 2004.

Many of his paintings are held in private collections in Great Britain, Holland, France and United States.

Robert Krogle, 1944 | Impressionist painter

American painter Robert Krogle was born in Santa Monica, California.

After high school Robert applied to Chouinard Art Institute of Los Angeles and was accepted but after two years was called to duty by the California Army National Guard.

He spent five and a half months in Vietnam and was awarded the bronze star and purple heart for his service.

Upon returning to civilian life, Robert completed his last two years of art education in 1970.
