Jules Pascin (1885-1930) | Expressionist painter


Bulgarian🎨-born painter Jules Pascin, original name Julius Pincas, renowned for his delicate draftsmanship and sensitive studies of women.
Born of Italian Serbian and Spanish Jewish parents, Pascin was educated in Vienna before he moved to Munich, Germany, where he attended art school in 1903.
Beginning in 1904, his drawings were regularly published in satiric journals such as the Lustige Blätter and Simplicissimus. At the request of his family, who disapproved of his bohemian lifestyle, he changed his name to Pascin in 1905.

Wojciech Weiss (1875-1950) | Art Nouveau painter


Wojciech Weiss was an Polish painter🎨, draughtsman and graphic artist, a student, professor and Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, representative of the Expressionist Young Poland art movement and of the Colouristic tendencies of the 1920s and 1930s.
Weiss was born in Bukovina to a Polish family in exile of Stanisław Weiss and Maria Kopaczyńska. He gave up music training to study art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków under Leon Wyczółkowski.

Raphael | Angel, 1501-1501


"The Baronci Altarpiece" was a painting by the Italian High Renaissance artist, Raphael.
His first recorded commission, it was made for Andrea Baronci's chapel in the church of Sant'Agostino in Città di Castello, near Urbino.
The altarpiece was seriously damaged during an earthquake in 1789, and since 1849 fragments of the original painting have been part of different collections.

Russian-French painter Irène Klestova/ Ирина Клестова was born in Saratov-Russia, then the family of the artist moved to Moscow. Here, in the studio of the famous landscape painter Theodore Rerberg, Irene began his artistic education.
In 1925 he entered the Academy of Arts in Rome. In the same period, Irina met her future husband, painter Lev Tchistovsky.

Feng Chiang-Jiang 冯长江, 1943


Feng Chiang-Jiang interested in painting since his youth, he taught himself the art. After initially practicing Western painting and Chinese ink-and-wash painting, he specialized in the traditional meticulous brushwork painting with help and inspiration from the famous art historian and painter Pan Xie-zi.
Pan Xie-zi also passed on his knowledge of ancient frescoes replication to Feng, which Feng was able to apply to various temples, tombs and sites such as Yung li Palace and Qing-long Temple. The experience has benefited his artistic development and style maturation.
