Lucia Coghetto - in arte «Ghetto» - è nata a Mestre.

Italian painter Lucia Coghetto, known as Ghetto, was born in Mestre, Venice. She currently lives and works in the province of Vicenza.
Ghetto has been painting all her life, learning side by side with established artists, and following private courses.
For over a decade she has been painting on plaster, in the style of the frescos.
Ghetto's latest works are based on old wooden boards that have already been used for packagings. Printed markings might occasionally appear on these supports, together with the grain and the knots in the wood, in perfect synergy with the image.
The artist also focuses on the female figure, expressing her own identity. In the paintings on canvas, faces and expressions are enhanced, magnifying details to take up all the space and making the mood the real subject of the artwork.

Dutch painter Peter van der Ploeg was born in Rhenen, in the Netherlands. Graduated at the Art Academy in Arnhem in 1976.
Independent artist since 1976. The theme of his work is the silence of the landscape and the tension within it.
In the landscapes we find tension, loneliness, peace or threats. The almost photographic reproduction of the subject is his medium. This increases the drama of his theme and herewith is functional. Paintings of Peter van der Ploeg have been shown in the Fries Museum in Leeuwarden and at the KunstRAI in Amsterdam.

Henry John Stock - The Kiss, 1894
T'amo per tutte le donne
che non ho conosciuto.
T'amo per tutte le stagioni
che non ho vissuto, per l'odore
d'altomare e l'odore del pane
fresco, per la neve che si
scioglie per i primi fiori
per gli animali puri che
l'uomo non spaventa.
T'amo per amare.
I love you for all the women
I have not known
I love you for all the time
I have not lived
For the odor of the open sea and the odor of warm bread
For the snow which melts for the first flowers
For the pure animals man doesn’t frighten
I love you to love

'Basically I have been a painter of 'interiors' although not exclusively as there have been other venues as well. You could call me a painter of 'genre' as well, meaning ordinary people doing ordinary things such as recently painting a series of painting of people looking at paintings in museums and galleries. It gave me an excuse to do copies of other great paintings done be such painters as Picasso, Monet, Cezanne, Sargent and the like'.

German painter Franz Paul Guillery (1862-1933) was born near Cologne, the son of a mining engineer with upper class pretensions. His family money allowed to study art full time and he spent seven years of his 20s in Rome soaking up the Italian ambiance and honing his style. Yes, that's Venice above, but I haven't been able to find a painting of Rome. Perhaps his Roman works are not very good, or perhaps he really spent that time in wineshops and whorehouses.
Guillery left a huge body of work of many different sorts: portraits, still-lifes, landscapes, street scenes, unbelievably sappy Christian works, scenes from German mythology and more.
