Chidi Okoye, 1961 | Abstract painter / sculptor

Nigerian born painter Chidi A. Okoye graduated with a distinction in sculpture from the Institute of Management and Technology in Enugu, Nigeria, in 1988.
For the next six years he taught sculpture and drawing at Federal Polytechnic Oko Anambra State Nigeria. During this period, he created an outstanding collection, not only sculpting, but painting and writing as well.
In Nigeria, He had his national solo exhibition “Textures of Life” and launching of his book “Lamentation” at national museum Lagos in 1993 sponsored by Mobil Producing Nigeria.

Taras Loboda è nato a Ivano-Frankovsk, Ucraina, nella famiglia di I.I.Loboda, famoso artista Ucraino.
Si è laureato presso l'Istituto d'Arte di Kiev (1979-1985).

This was clearly reflected in a letter that he wrote to his friend Gustave Geffroy in 1908, when he was still occupied with the same theme:
'You must know I'm entirely absorbed in my work. These landscapes of water and reflections have become an obsession. It's quite beyond my powers at my age, and yet I want to succeed in expressing what I feel. I've destroyed some... I start others... and I hope that something will come out of so much effort'.

Narcisse Diaz de la Peña | The Barbizon school of painters


Narcisse-Virgilio Díaz de la Peña (1808-1876) was born in 1808 in Bordeaux, of Spanish parents who had fled the Peninsular Wars.
After their early deaths, he grew up in foster care at Meudon.
At thirteen, an infection, caused by an insect sting or snake bite, necessitated the amputation of his left leg.
In 1823 he began an apprenticeship in painting on porcelain at a china factory in Paris, where he met Jules Dupré (1811-1889), who was to become his lifelong friend.

Théodore Rousseau | The Barbizon school of painters

Théodore Rousseau, in full Pierre-Étienne-Théodore Rousseau (born April 15, 1812, Paris, France-died December 22, 1867, Barbizon), French painter who was a leader of the Barbizon school of landscape painters.
His direct observation of nature made him an important figure in the development of Landscape painting.
Rousseau, the son of a tailor, began to paint at age 14.

Attilio Pratella | Landscape/Genre painter


Italian painter Attilio Pratella was born in Lugo, Italy in 1856, and died in Naples in 1949. Pratella began drawing in 1877, was admitted to the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna through a scholarship and was inspired by the works of Fontanesi. By 1880 attended the Fine Arts Institute in Naples, during which time he earned livelihood as a ceramics decorator in the Cacciapuoti factory.

Théodore Ralli | Orientalist Academic painter

From a well-known family of Chios, Greek painter Théodore Ralli or Theodoros Rallis / Θεόδωρος Ράλλης (1852-1909) worked for a brief period in the commercial house of Rallis-Mavroyannis in London, but abandoned his entrepreneurial career and settled permanently in Paris, at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts.
There he studied painting under the Academic teacher and Orientalist painter Jean-Leon Gerome until approximately 1880.
In 1873 he took part in the Salon des Refuses.

Artur Muharremi, 1958 | Allegorical painter


Artur Muharremi is one of the most important Albanian contemporary painters. Muharremi has started to create before the political changes leading Albania to democracy took place. With his well known painting 'Before Creation' (1989), Muharremi was one of those very few artists, who shook off and warned the Albanian society of nineties against the crisis that was going to break. Pascale Taurua, 1960 | Mixed media/Fashion painter

French artist Pascale-Miria Taurua is painting since her young age. She was born in New Caledonia and went to Art School in Tahiti. After leaving there for a few years she went to Paris and then the South of France where she lives in both places since 2006.
Taurua's paintings are as beautifully and as aggressively painted as they are sensually erotic. Her girls have a certain glamour that reminds her own life since she has been Miss France 1978 at the age of 18. Edward Mitchell Bannister | Tonalist painter


Edward Mitchell Bannister (ca. 1828-1901) was a Black Canadian-American Tonalist painter. Like other Tonalists, his style and predominantly pastoral subject matter were drawn from his admiration for Millet and the French Barbizon School.
Bannister was born in St. Andrews, New Brunswick and moved to New England in the late 1840s, where he remained for the rest of his life.

Stefano Puleo was born in the province of Catania Acitrezza, Italy. His first approach to painting dates back to adolescence, when he saw up close the works of great masters like Guttuso, Migneco, Barbaro, Mirabella and many others who participated in the Acitrezza Award during the early sixties. In 1964, he enrolled at the Art School of Catania. The year 1966 dates his artistic debut in expositions and participation in competitions. At that time, his production mainly included  drawings and small sculptures.

Nicola Simbari | Palette knife painter

Nicola Simbari (1927-2012) was an Italian painter, known for working in the Impressionism style.
As a painter, Simbari initially was interested in mainly the avant-garde movement. Braque was his first god, and later followed his admiration for Miró. Gradually, he became involved in an effort to tell a story with his paintings, so he changed to a more introverted approach.
Meanwhile, Simbari began developing an admiration for Gauguin, Van Gogh, and de Staël. Gradually finding himself free from influence, he developed the style now recognized as Simbaresco.

Ann Moeller | Realist/Portrait painter

Ann Moeller Steverson is a contemporary realist oil painter whose work includes portraits, figures and still life. Ann recently received honors for her portfolio at the 2014 Portrait Society of America Conference. Her latest works incorporate architectural salvage pieces as the framing or framework.



A native of Madison, Alabama, Ann began painting in oils at the University of Montevallo in 1999. She graduated in 2002 from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, completing a B.A. with a Fine Arts Concentration. Ann then acquired a Masters of Art Education from Alabama AandM University in Normal, Alabama. Ann works in a public studio, #304, at Lowe Mill ARTS and Entertainment.

Christophe Charbonnel was born in Nantes. He has been working with sculpture for 17 years. Birge Harrison | Tonalist painter


Lovell Birge Harrison (October 28, 1854, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - 1929) was an American genre and landscape painter, teacher and writer. He was a prominent practitioner and advocate of Tonalism.
Born in Philadelphia, Birge Harrison was the brother of artist T. Alexander Harrison. He studied first at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 1874, and later credited Thomas Eakins as a positive influence on his own teaching style. He then went to Paris on the advice of John Singer Sargent to study with Carolus-Duran and at the École des Beaux-Arts under Cabanel. In 1881 Harrison exhibited at the Paris Salon, and in 1882 his Salon entry, Novembre, became one of the first paintings by an American artist to be purchased by the French government.

Spanish artist Maria Angeles Anglada studied sculpture at the Fine Arts School of Zaragoza between 1985-1988.

Filippo De Pisis | The Metaphysical Art Movement


Filippo De Pisis (11 May 1896 - 2 April 1956) was an Italian painter -poet who was born Luigi Filippo Tibertelli in Ferrara. In 1919 De Pisis moved to Rome, where he started to paint. While important editors of his time criticized had De Pisis for producing overly-sentimental poetry, this emotional streak translated well on canvas. De Pisis is best known for his cityscapes, metaphysically-inspired maritime scenes and still lifes, especially those depicting flowers.
