Pablo Neruda and Lisa G. ~ Qui ti amo

The Secession Art

Oskar Laske (1901-1902) - Vienna Secession

Secession (German: Sezession) refers to a number of modernist artist groups that separated from the support of official academic art and its administrations in the late 19th and early 20th century.

The first secession from the official politics occurred in France, when, in 1890, the "Salon au Champs-de-Mars" was established, headed by Meissonnier and Puvis de Chavannes. In the years following artists in various European countries took up this impulse, primarily in Germany, Austria–Hungary, and Belgium, which 'seceded' from traditional art movements and embraced progressive styles.

Dio, quell'altro artigiano.

Lukasiewicz was born in 1974 in Pulawy, Poland and since 1995 lives and work in Antwerp, Belgium.“My paintings are of the human form, the soft tenderness that it can transfer to the viewer; never the anger of the world but the peace and harmony that humans are capable of. I have been influenced by living in Belgium and painters of the Benelux countries and I try to show the placid side of the subject using light, the reflection of light and the shadows to emphasise the subjects form and curves. I never use colour but the subtleness of tone to achieve these effects. I try to achieve the smoothness of skin and the body so no brush strokes are visible to the viewer. I have developed this technique for painting the human body and have works in many collections

Andrey Razumovsky ~ The milk dressses

Artists often find inspiration for their creations in the most unlikely places. Russian photographer Andrey Razumovsky [Андрей Разумовский] stimulating influence to create this work called “Milk” was, well, dairy milk. Razumovsky’s digitally-enhanced photography introduces us to a collection of scantily clad women photographed pin-up style and “draped” in “milk clothes” such as corsets, dresses, underwear, and bathing suits. Razumovsky’s work is undoubtedly very racy but I personally find the naughty collection rather entertaining and amusing.

Vladimir Muhin /Владимир Мухин, 1971 | Impressionist Figurative painter

Vladimir Muhin /Владимир Мухин belongs to a new generation of Russian artists who survived the artistic repressions of the Soviet Union and are now flourishing in the more open political climate of modern Russia.
He was born in 1971 in Karaganda a small city in the country of Kazakhstan. Both his mother and father shared a love of the arts and both were members of notable ballet companies. At the age of 12, Vladimir began his formal instruction as a painter.
He remembers that many of his teachers had been deported to this neglected backwater of the Soviet Union as punishment for their artistic aspirations. "I remember", he says sadly, "they were proud but they were broken". In 1986 Vladimir entered the Penza College of Fine Art (400 miles southeast of Moscow). It was here that Vladimir began to realize the inherent conflict of trying to become a great painter under a Soviet system that promoted uniformity. "The credo of the artist must always be to offer a unique perspective", he says.

Gary Benfield, 1965 | The Horses

Gary Benfield's artistic style is unique. A pencil in one hand and a paint brush in the other, he approaches the canvas and uses both at the same time, just letting 'what happens, happen.' What's happened so far is quick success and what appears to be the beginning of a very impressive career. Benfield is ambidextrous by training, not by nature. A competitive cyclist since his youth, he has broken his arms multiple times. Over the years he learned to compensate. Today this literal two-fisted ability is one of the things which makes his style so unique.
